Supporting courage and responsibility among young people

We need to take the time to reflect collectively on our lives and our goals, because courage and responsibility are essential. It’s time to deal with the pain, helplessness, confusion and distress of our times. That’s why we created The International Day of Courage and Individual Responsibility, launched at the Y EVENT 2023, to promote the principles of personal development and progress individually and collectively.

Donations collected during the Y EVENT 2023 at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal are used by schools for initiatives aimed at developing courage and individual responsibility in young people.

Courage is the disposition that enables us to move towards the truth while facing up to that which terrorizes us. Responsibility is the willingness to shoulder burdens and move forward. Anthony KAVANAGH

Humorist | Singer | Actor

For over 30 years, multi-talented Quebec artist Anthony Kavanagh has been performing as a comedian, actor and singer for French-speaking audiences around the world. A true showman in the vein of versatile artists such as Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) – who also started out in comedy – Anthony now aspires to broaden his horizons.

With his first English-language musical project, Let You Go, Anthony Kavanagh officially launched himself into the world of music. With this first track, Anthony cultivates his own style, blending soul, blues rock and electro in a solid pop package.

Anthony has often lent his voice to the heroes of successful animated films (Disney and Dreamworks), such as Mulan, Happy Feet (1 and 2), The Princess and the Frog, Madagascar (1, 2 ,3), Vaiana, and more recently Aladdin, in which he brings the genie of the lamp to life. In France, he is one of the top 25 comedians of the last 50 years, according to an IFOP survey. With over 1,500 performances in 15 countries and 6 French territories, he is considered one of the best French-language comedians of his generation. A popular master of ceremonies and TV host in both Quebec and Europe, he has hosted the NRJ Music Awards, Juste Pour Rire galas, Le Dancing Show (with the Night of the Proms Orchestra), the Fête de la Musique and Quebec City’s Comediha Fest.

Guillaume Dulude

Doctor of Psychology | Founder of Psycom | Best-selling author | International speaker

Guillaume Dulude, Ph.D., is the founder of Psycom. He specializes in and teaches the psychology of human relationships, interpersonal communication and leadership development. A best-selling author, international speaker, producer and TV host, Guillaume popularizes science and makes psychology accessible to the general public through his books and specialized training courses.
He holds a doctorate in research psychology (PhD) and clinical psychology (Psyd) from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). His thesis research focuses on cognitive processes, attentional systems and consciousness.

Guillaume is as passionate about the theories and foundations of human development as he is about putting them into practice. He stands out not only for his innovative concepts and teachings, but also for his practical demonstration of communication strategies in all environments, types of relationships and socio-cultural contexts. Guillaume works to demonstrate what humans have in common, not what divides them.
He hosts the documentary series Tribal, broadcast on TV5 Monde. This program, which he co-directed, received two nominations at the 35th Gala des Prix Gémeaux (2020) in the categories of Best Documentary Series (Society) and Best Photography Direction (Public Affairs, Documentary Series).

He has appeared every Monday alongside Marie-Claude Barrette on TVA’s Deux filles le matin, then à Marie-Claude. In the summer of 2021, Guillaume will co-host the radio program Ni noir ni blanc on 98.5FM.

Guillaume’s book, Je suis un chercheur d’or, is published in 2020 by Éditions de l’Homme and is a bestseller in Quebec, receiving the Coup de cœur des librairies Renaud-Bray award. The book, which is also available in paperback and audiobook formats, is a guide to the mechanisms of communication and human relations, shedding new light on the meaning of relationships and interpersonal communication.

In 2023, Guillaume Dulude founded the International Day of Courage and Individual Responsibility. For the occasion, he organizes and hosts the first Y Event at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. Some 5,000 people attend this large-scale conference, which teaches psychological strategies for, among other things, overcoming stagnation, making the right decisions, moving forward to the next chapter of one’s life and finding meaning in it. With the proceeds from ticket sales, Guillaume raises over $100,000, which he donates to three Quebec high schools to encourage young people to pursue their quest for meaning through individual responsibility.
